Healing Hearts Through a 3-inch Incision

Unlike traditional heart surgery, where surgeons cut open the patient's breast bone through a procedure called a sternotomy, the da Vinci robot allows the surgeon to reach the patient's heart through a small 3-inch incision between the ribs on the patient''''s right side.
