In 2008, St. Elizabeth Healthcare began raising funds for a number of key community healthcare needs, including one of the nation’s first 320-slice CT scanners and a mobile health screening van. The fundraising efforts kicked off with an employee donation campaign which raised more than $1 million for the projects. Below, please find detailed information about these major fundraising efforts and the ways you can help St. Elizabeth bring them to our community.
A Patient Story
“I wanted to share with you the outcome of the cardiac screening for my husband, Dave. Dr. Kennedy performed an angiogram and found four blockages – 90% in the right artery and 80%, 70% in the LAD. As a result, Dave now has five stents. He is doing fine, just waiting to begin Cardiac Rehab. We are so grateful that Dave had the screening and found out about the problem before any damage occurred.”

daVinci® Surgical System
Total Cost: $1.5 million

This amazing surgical system operates via robotic arms, each holding a video camera, to give surgeons a 3D view of the operating field. The robotic arms move like a human wrists, allowing for increased dexterity, maneuverability, and precision. There is now a broader range of surgeries that can be performed less invasively and patients benefit from decreased blood loss and postoperative pain, less scarring, fewer infections and complications, and a faster recovery and return to regular activities.
Regional Diabetes and Endocrine Center
Total Cost: $5.5 million

Kentucky’s rate for diabetes was the ninth highest in the nation in 2007; that’s an estimated one in seven Kentucky adults with diabetes! This means someone you love probably has diabetes. To be located within St. Elizabeth’s Covington facility, the Regional Diabetes and Endocrine Center will combine existing diabetes services of Patient First and St. Elizabeth into a modern, accessible, high-tech facility.
The center will elevate diabetes care to an unprecedented level of education, patient support, preventive care and treatment for those who suffer from diabetes and its complications. Our new Diabetes and Endocrine Center will be the only facility of its size and type in the Greater Cincinnati metropolitan area.
EPIC Enterprise Medical Record System
