Important Beginnings: Teen Pregnancy Support Group

Pregnant teens often feel lost and unequipped to handle the big decisions they suddenly find themselves facing. The group will share resources, provide education, discuss the importance of good prenatal care, and give teens an opportunity to support one another.
Chordless Club: Laryngectomy Support Group

A support group for laryngectomy patients who are unable to speak because their larynx (voice box) has been surgically removed. Patients and family members are encouraged to attend to learn to cope with issues related to the surgery and regaining the ability to communicate.

Trained volunteer cosmetologists help female cancer patients deal with the side effects of treatment by teaching them beauty techniques to enhance their appearance and self-image. The Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association and the National Cosmetology Association partner with the American Cancer Society to offer this program. Includes demonstrations on wig-styling and turban-tying.

The St. Luke Parkinson’s support group is open to patients suffering from Parkinson’s disease and their caregivers. Caregivers will learn more about the disease process, medications and treatments as well as mutual support. Patients will have a forum to talk about disease-related issues with others that suffer from Parkinson’s disease.
