Our Services
Welcome to the St. Luke Regional Vascular Institute
Welcome to the St. Luke Regional Vascular Institute. At the Vascular Institute, our mission is to provide people with state-of-the-art, advanced vascular medical care. From patient and family education, to customized treatment, to compassionate care, the Vascular Institute is here for you.
This begins with patient and family education. We meet with you to help find out what issues you are having. Then our multidisciplinary team can determine if treatment is necessary, and if so, what the best treatment is for your needs.
Our team
The team of experts at the Vascular Institute doesn’t just treat your disease; we care for you as an individual. No two people are exactly alike, so your treatment should be tailored specifically to your particular problem and unique needs. Our highly trained vascular specialists bring you state-of-the-art vascular medicine, delivered with personalized care and concern.
Equipped with the newest technology in diagnostics and minimally invasive therapeutic interventions, our team thoroughly analyzes your problem and educates you about it. Then a detailed treatment plan with various options will be provided for you. You and your family physician can decide what best fits your specific needs.
We also combine our knowledge and expertise with leading-edge technology. Some of the most advanced procedures in the nation are performed at the Vascular Institute, which is the first center of its kind in Northern Kentucky. John Edwards, MD, medical director of the institute, is a nationally recognized, board-certified vascular surgeon with years of experience in minimally invasive endovascular techniques.
“Fit the treatment to the patient, not the patient to the treatment. But first and foremost, decide if the patient needs any treatment at all.”
~John Edwards, MD, medical director of the St. Luke Regional Vascular Institute.

A full range of treatments
If you or someone you know has a vascular problem or question about vascular diseases or symptoms, the St. Luke Regional Vascular Institute is here for you. All vascular problems are different and sometimes these problems require standard surgical options, while others may be addressed with minimally invasive catheter-based treatments, such as angioplasty and stenting. Your vascular specialist should be able to provide either treatment so that you are assured that the treatment plan is tailored specifically for you. This high-quality care, with all options available, is exactly what we provide here at the institute.
While some vascular problems demand immediate attention, vascular problems of a less-urgent nature also exist. These problems may not necessarily be life-or-limb-threatening, but they may still cause the person significant trouble with daily living. It is in these situations that alternative options for care become critical.
Here at the Vascular Institute, your vascular specialist may, in these cases, prescribe noninterventional methods for dealing with the problem as the first line in treatment. This may involve lifestyle modifications, exercise programs, changes in diet, vitamins and/or medications. Other interventional, minimally invasive options or even surgery may be considered if the first line of treatment proves inadequate. The important point is that the plan is always designed with your particular needs in mind.
